Theory: Barthes' Action Code

This code involves including sequential moments of action  in film which add pace and tension to the narrative, evoking a range of audience pleasures.

Example of the action code in film
The film X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) utilises the action code as due to the attributes of the characters. One of these is when Mystique attacks and shocks the other characters. This demonstrates how films can aid in the evocation of specific audience pleasures such as excitement and fear. The amount of action and close ups used mean that as an audience we are forcibly put into the character's position, resulting in more impact.

Applying the action code to my trailer:
This is slightly difficult because being of the fantasy genre, it does not include any significant moments of action. However, there are moments which build tension, such as the tearing up of the pages in the fairytale book.
